The material things we have. The illusion of security through our social status. Those proud, self proclaiming titles. They’re all fueled through the desperate need to boost one's conviction of self in the hallucination of this “thriving” society. Why on Earth is this so important? Are we really that insecure? Who's leading who? I’d like to apologize in advance, as I know it's a hard pill to swallow but we're far from thinking for ourselves.
Take a heavy, conscious look around and dig deep into your perception of self. Are we abiding to every standard in which society has placed on us? Just going about our daily lives, with no question, whatsoever, to these beliefs that we've inherited? Nothing but followers, transfixed on the ideas of a future self. Empty, lifeless souls, constantly seeking the next thrill. Reflection in the mirror, obsessing with the exterior trip, proclaiming the mysteriousness of life is known! There we are, doing exactly as they say, desperately trying to attain those small moments of self worship to…“win”? How sad this truly is. We've forgotten that there's far more truth in our exquisite makeup than these basic realities, blindly denying the phenomenon of who we really are.
As an individual in this society, I know many of us can agree that we can't trust the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the media we see. So, why are we believing that the previous foot work laid before us, is the true foundation of a thriving existence? For me, it seems flat. Empty. It’s far from alignment with the true nature of our being and to subscribe to it would be at the sacrifice of my soul.
